Basic Open Source (OSINT) Research & Analysis Tradecraft


This course is designed to provide an introduction and basic skills enhancement to people charged with the responsibility to perform OSINT research and SOCMINT tasks that may not have received any formal training in this area.


Learn the fundamentals of contemporary Open Source and Social Media Intelligence Tradecraft from recognised leaders in the field including:

Appreciation of the OS environment Legal and Ethical Guidance Tradecraft Exploitation The course will significantly enhance the trainee’s capabilities to maximise the resources, data and tools at their disposal to achieve organisational requirements.


  • Anyone required to research, collect and analyse open sourced and social media based intelligence.
  • Level – Students would be expected to be computer literate.
  • Language – The course will be delivered in English.
  • Delivery Style – 40% Instructor led theory, 60% Instructor led practical sessions .
  • Duration – 2 Days (Times 08-30 – 12-30 / 13-30 – 17-30)

Any requirements for overnight accommodation are the responsibility of the trainee – but we are happy to help!

Tea, coffee and soft drinks are provided throughout all classroom training courses.

Day-long course modules will include a buffet lunch. (Special dietary requirements must be noted at the time of booking)
